The latest lamp technology volvo

Volvo car manufacturer has developed a new technology Active High Beam Control (AHBC), the remote lights that are not dazzling. They claim AHBC not only pay attention to the vehicle from the front, but also create a safer driver in the dark.

The main advantage of AHBC is when driving extremely low light. The object that usually does not seem like a car parked at the roadside, animals, pedestrians, or other road users without lights can be more clearly seen. But, other car users do not contact this bright light beam.
Volvo explained, working lights shined the light only to the necessary objects. AHBC using a small camera above the rearview mirror cabin as a detector, similar to that used in the automatic brake technology in some brands. The camera is in charge of identifying which objects need to be light, and which are not highlighted.
The control unit will receive information from the camera, and forward it to the intelligent module integrated projector headlights. Small cylinder with metal pieces of various sizes would "hinder" the light in accordance with instructions from the control unit, and illuminate objects that needed it.
